Tech Tips for Kids to avoid bad posture
Kids and teens are spending hours every day on phones, tablets, and laptops—and their spines are feeling it! Neck and upper back pain are becoming more common, but small changes in posture can make a huge difference. Check out Dr. Armstrong’s video:
Neck and upper back pain aren’t just adult problems anymore—more kids and teens are starting to feel the effects of how they use their phones, tablets, and laptops. Hours spent scrolling, gaming, or studying can lead to rounded posture, forward head tilt, and strain in the muscles and joints of the upper back and neck.
In this video Dr. Robin discusses:
What treatment might look like for kids with upper back or neck pain from tech use
Trading out poor posture on the phone (round spine and chin dropped) for healthy positions (leaning forward on the legs with a long spine)
Switching poor posture on the iPad (slumped in the seat) for a supported posture (pillow behind the back and under the iPad to raise it up)
Avoiding unhealthy laptop positioning (on a table, with the built in tools) and setting up for pain free use (on a desk, using an external mouse and keyboard)
