All about: Insurance Benefits

If you have extended health benefits that include chiropractic or massage coverage, now is the perfect time to make sure you're getting the most out of them. Check out Dr. Armstrong's video for her 3 tips!

As we move into the last month of the year, now is the perfect time to make sure you're getting the most out of your extended health benefits. Here are Dr. Robin's 3 tips to maximize your Chiropractic and RMT benefits:

  1. Use Direct Billing (Which we do):

  • Most major insurers allow direct billing, meaning your provider can submit the claim on your behalf so you only pay what isn’t covered.

  • If your insurer isn’t part of a direct-billing network, you can still be reimbursed quickly by submitting your receipt through your insurance provider’s app or online portal.

  • All you need are your plan details, which are usually found on your insurance card or mobile app.

2. Before Your First Visit:

  • Provide your policy or plan number and certificate/ID number before your first visit.

  • Many people have secondary plans through a partner or family member, and in those cases, the remaining balance from your primary claim may be eligible for additional reimbursement.

3. Coverage Periods and Plan Details:

  • Most benefit plans renew every 12 months, but not all follow the calendar year.

  • Check your remaining coverage so you don’t leave unused treatments behind.

  • Once the benefit period resets, unused funds typically do not carry over.
